We Support Breast Cancer Care

In 2010 it is estimated that 14,000 women in Australia will be diagnosed with breast cancer, making it the most common cancer for women.It is important to remember that most women survive breast cancer latest statistics (2006) show that the 5-year survival rate for women diagnosed with breast cancer is more than 88%. Of course, many women live long and healthy lives well beyond this period, but dealing with this diagnosis can be an overwhelming, frightening and often lonely experience not just for the person diagnosed, but for their partner, family and friends.

Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) works to ensure that women diagnosed with breast cancer, and their families, receive the very best information, treatment, care and support possible, no matter who they are or where they live.

BCNA is the top national organisation for Australians affected by breast cancer, and consists of a network of more than 50,000 individual members and 284 Member Groups. More than ninety percent of our members have had a diagnosis of breast cancer, and the remaining members have had a personal experience with breast cancer through a family member or friend.
